Amroha, July 18: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 43 development projects worth over ₹207 crore for the Amroha and Dhanaura Assembly constituencies during a public meeting at Venkateshwara University, Gajraula.
Addressing a large gathering, the Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the country's leading producer of sugar, sugarcane, and ethanol under the double-engine government. He criticized previous governments, alleging that 29 sugar mills were closed and 21 were sold at throwaway prices, while the present government is operating 122 sugar mills and has ensured sugarcane payments worth ₹3.23 lakh crore to farmers. He also noted that the sugarcane procurement price has increased to ₹400 per quintal.
Highlighting Amroha's transformation, Yogi Adityanath said the district can no longer be called backward. He praised its globally recognized handicrafts, ODOP-promoted tabla and dholak industry, and mango exports. He added that the Ganga Expressway, industrial development projects, and the proposed industrial park in Hasanpur would accelerate economic growth and employment in the district.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Uttar Pradesh has witnessed significant improvements in law and order, infrastructure, and investment since 2017. He said the government is working on long-term infrastructure planning and ensuring better opportunities for youth, farmers, and entrepreneurs.
Speaking about religious freedom, Yogi said festivals and traditional processions now receive government support, unlike previous years. He also reiterated the government's commitment to maintaining law and order, warning that those attempting to disturb peace would face strict action.
The Chief Minister also announced continued efforts to develop Tigri and Garhmukteshwar as major religious tourism destinations and assured that the government would continue implementing welfare schemes for every section of society without discrimination.
During his speech, Yogi praised local public representatives for actively pursuing development proposals and appealed to voters to elect representatives committed to the district's progress.
Among those present were Minister of State for Agriculture Baldev Singh Aulakh, MP Kunwar Singh Tanwar, District Panchayat Chairman Lalit Tanwar, MLAs Rajeev Tarara and Mahendra Singh Khadagvanshi, MLC Hari Singh Dhillon, BJP District President Uday Giri Goswami, and several senior officials.
